The 4" Maxi Dovetail Clamping Plate is engineered to interface exclusively with 10Micron 4" dovetail slide bars, providing a robust mounting solution for heavy-duty optical configurations. This plate is specifically designed for setups where the standard 3" Losmandy system may lack the necessary structural integrity, making it the recommended choice for large-format optical tubes, typically those exceeding 14 inches, or complex dual-telescope arrays. Measuring 350mm in length, the plate utilizes three high-security locking knobs to ensure a flexure-free connection between the instrument and the mount.

Installation & Deployment Notes

While the "Maxi" plate is technically compatible with the mounting surfaces of the GM3/AZ3 & GM4/AZ4 series, the low-profile design of the clamping mechanism presents a practical clearance challenge. To ensure sufficient ergonomic "room" for manual operation of the locking knobs, 10Micron strongly advises the use of dedicated flange adapters. These spacers elevate the plate just enough to allow for comfortable and secure tightening in high-torque professional environments.
