PRODUCT OVERVIEW
The Half Pillar serves as a critical structural extension designed to maximize operational safety and mechanical clearance during intensive observation or imaging sessions. By providing an additional 130mm of vertical displacement between the mount and the supporting tripod or pier, this accessory effectively mitigates the risk of equipment collision. This is particularly vital when utilizing long optical tubes that require a greater range of motion near the meridian or at high altitudes where the clearance between the telescope's rear cell and the tripod legs becomes dangerously narrow.
The pillar is CNC machined from a solid block of aerospace-grade aluminum. This manufacturing process ensures the component maintains exceptional rigidity—essential for preserving the tracking precision of our HPS systems. The assembly is finished with a durable, black anodization prevent stray light reflections and ensure long-term resistance to environmental wear.
Regarding system integration, the Half Pillar is directly compatible with the GM1000 HPS equatorial mount. For users operating the AZ1000 HPS in alt-azimuth configuration, the dedicated adapter (# 10M1120) is required to ensure a secure and precise fit. Due to the increased physical distance between the mount head and the control box created by this extension, we strongly recommend the use of the extended cable (# 10M1072) to maintain clean cable management and prevent tension during high-speed slewing.
