The pursuit of absolute precision in astronomical observation begins at the very foundation of the installation. Baader leveling flanges serve as the interface between the substructure and the instrument, specifically engineered to neutralize irregularities in concrete pillars or foundation surfaces. By addressing deviations in the substructure at the point closest to the mount, these flanges ensure that the perfect North-South alignment is achieved with surgical accuracy. This meticulous adjustment process is performed without compromising the inherent stability of the pillar, maintaining the rigid support structure required for high-end performance.

This leveling system is designed as a seamless adapter for the Baader conical steel pillar, though its robust architecture makes it a versatile solution for various high-end configurations. The unit is constructed from two solid steel plates separated by six reinforced steel bars, a design choice that prioritizes vibration dampening and extreme load-bearing capacity. Specifically optimized for the GM2000 and AZ2000 mount series, the top plate is precision-milled to an exacting flatness and threaded to interface perfectly with the mount’s base plate.

With an overall height of 108 mm, this component is a testament to the synergy between 10Micron’s mechanical heritage and functional design.
