PRODUCT OVERVIEW
The Baader leveling flanges represent a critical integration component for permanent observatory installations, specifically engineered to bridge the gap between a fixed foundation and the absolute precision required by a 10Micron mount. These flanges serve as a sophisticated adjustment interface, designed to compensate for structural unevenness in concrete pillars or foundations, as well as minor misalignments in the substructure's North-South orientation. By placing the adjustment mechanism in close proximity to the mount itself, the system achieves a level of leveling accuracy and rigidity that standard pillar tops cannot provide, ensuring that the stability of the entire support column remains uncompromised.
Structurally, the unit is optimized for use as a dedicated adapter for the Baader conical steel pillar, consisting of two massive steel plates separated by six reinforced steel bars. The top plate is precision-milled to an exacting flatness and threaded to interface seamlessly with the base plate of the mount, maintaining a total assembly height of 106 mm. This mechanical synergy ensures that the mount's internal sky modeling and tracking capabilities are supported by a rigid and vibration-free platform.
Please note that because each flange is individually machined to meet these rigorous standards, they are available exclusively in combination with the purchase of a 10Micron mount. This specific model is designed exclusively for the GM1000 and AZ1000 mounts.
